On Jan. 2, 1913, Australia first issued stamps in 15 different denominations and colors, all depicting a Kangaroo and Map (affectionately known as “Roo and Map”), were issued. These kangaroo stamps ranged from a ½-penny stamp in green to a £2 bicolor stamp in deep rose and black.
